Summary

The Cambridge Latin Course is available on iPads as Stage by Stage iBook textbooks. Please visit the iTunes Store to download them. Each Stage costs 99p.

These iPad textbooks are licensed to individual, named users, so they are more suitable for use by individual students than by schools. (Schools may wish to try our WebBooks instead.) However, schools which require all students to purchase their own books and iPads may wish to consider these iPad textbooks instead of our physical books.

iPad Multi-Touch Textbook background

We have been publishing iPad editions of the Cambridge Latin Course in North America since 2012 and, following a 3 month trial, we're now publishing them for the UK edition of the Course. Our iPad Multi-Touch Textbooks give access to the content of the textbook via an iPad app, purchased from the iTunes Store. They work only on iPads (or Macs with iBooks 1.0 or later and OS X 10.9 or later). Once purchased, they can be used without an internet connection. Each Stage is a separate publication, so you only need to purchase the Stages you actually use.

Ancillary activities

In addition to the textbook content, the iBook Textbooks give access to our Story Explorers and to our interactive dictionaries. In Stages 1 to 20 they also provide access to a number of video introductions, as well as audio for all stories and model sentences. In Stages 21 onwards, no video is available, but audio for many of the stories will be included.

Purchasing

iBook Textbooks are only available via the iTunes Store. Your school may have an account with Apple. If not, iBook Textbooks can be purchased directly from the iTunes Store, search for Cambridge Latin Course.

The opening two Stages of all five books are either free or discounted, other Stages are £1.49 each (or local currency equivalent).

Apple's licence agreement indicates that each iBook Textbook is licensed to the specific user/account holder. Please note, therefore, that iBook Textbooks cannot be passed from one student to another: they must be purchased anew for each student.
